We recognize that learning is unique to each student and strive to provide a sound basis of training in study skills and an individual program of instruction. Individualization means that each child’s academic, social and developmental needs are being addressed. After initial testing, students begin their own program of skill development.

Horizons Schools provide one program of learning with everyone participating within that same program. The curriculum is progressive and is brought to the students when they are ready, despite the academic or age grouping.
Our entire program of instruction is non-graded and ungraded. It is based upon initial skill evaluation, training in study skills, goal setting, and specialized forms of instruction leading to 100% skill mastery and independent learning.
This program ensures skills are demonstrated, terms are clearly defined, and a full understanding of the overall concept and relationship to their life is displayed. By accepting only 100% skill mastery and allowing the time personally necessary to accomplish the task, the Quality Check Program at Scottsdale Horizons develops the child’s recognition of their true competence, and thus, their enthusiasm for life and learning.
